Tasting commentary
The Merlots are magnificent but it is the Cabernets Sauvignon that dominate by posting a new record in Lagrange with a proportion of 86% in this assemblage. They combine density, freshness and length, signature of the great Médoc vintages. Notes of blackcurrant, sour cherry and liquorice will be retained. The 12% of Merlots, on the other hand, represents the lowest proportion in a wine from the estate. 2% of Petits Verdots complete the mid-palate with pear and pepper aromas. An important selection is made this year again with only 40% of Château Lagrange in this exceptional vintage. The undeniable quality of this 2022 vintage is at the height of its low yield, slightly lower than last year. Everything is in place in this wine, nothing exceeds a dense, velvety and vibrant sphere, absolute harmony.
