Owner's words

2024 : A unique terroir finally revealed thanks to the new technical tool. The 2024 vintage at Château Grand-Puy Ducasse required precision and adaptability, with a mild and rainy winter followed by a cool and wet spring, which slowed down the vines and increased fungal pressure. Fortunately, the drier summer allowed for a beautiful development of tannins and seeds, hinting at great potential. Although September brought dilutive rains and heightened botrytis pressure, the vigilance of the team ensured that the essentials were preserved. The harvest, which began on 23rd September for the Merlots, 1st October for the Petit Verdot, and 2nd October for the Cabernets, revealed a well-developed phenolic maturity, with wines marked by vibrant freshness and elegant tannins. The 2024 vintage showcases the strength of the terroir and the combined expertise of our winemaking team, alongside our adaptability in the cellar.
