Tasting commentary
On tasting, Branaire-Ducru 2022 shows a deep color. The nose is very expressive, complex, rich in ripe black fruit, but without any heaviness. The ageing delicately enhances the whole with fine spicy notes. The palate is generous, supple and fleshy, but held together by balanced acidity. The wine develops complexity and depth. The lingering finish is highly aromatic. The 2022 vintage was born in rather exceptional conditions, with summer temperatures and water constraints. However, the grapes retained a remarkable freshness and offer us an exceptional wine, combining true richness with magnificent balance.
